THE XRCVC TEAM
Dr. Sam Taraporevala (Director):Dr. Taraporevala is a Reader and Head of the Department of Sociology, St. Xavier’s College, Mumbai with nearly two decades of teaching and research experience. He has been responsible for conceptualizing, setting up and running the XRCVC which he believes would be playing a pivotal role in the lives of not only the visually challenged students of the college, but also to enrich the lives of other persons similarly placed across the country.
Ms. Neha Trivedi (Project Consultant):Ms. Trivedi, a student of Psychology from St. Xavier’s College, has done a Master’s in Social Work from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), Mumbai. Over the past few years she has worked with non-profit organisations on issues of disability, platform/street children and rural development.
Mr. Prashant Naik (Project Manager):
posses a professional degree in Computer Applications. He has
also studied Electronics Engineering and Materials Management. He is well versed with computer operations and has ten years work experience in the IT field. He is an expert in various kinds of access technology softwares and hardwares. He is certified as a Computer Trainer for the blind by Enable-India, Bangalore and has provided training of various levels to hundreds of blind persons in computer operations.
Ms. Melinda Warty (Project Officer):Ms. Warty, a student of Psychology from St. Xavier's College, has done a Master's in Psychology from Mumbai University. She has earlier worked with a non profit organization in the area of disability.
Mr. Aniket Gupta (Administrative Officer):
Mr Gupta has been working with the XRCVC since 2004. He is a commerce graduate from St. Xavier’s College, Mumbai and has an avid interest in photography. Mr Aniket Gupta is an integral part of the XRCVC team and looks after XRCVC’s administrative and accounting needs.
Ms. Kanchan Pamnani (Legal Adviser to the XRCVC):
Advocate and Solicitor - Specialises in Property, Testamentary, Corporate and Disability Laws.
Mr. Homiyar Mobedji (Accessibility and Access Technology Consultant to the XRCVC):
Mr. Mobedji is a consultant physiotherapist with vast experience in physiotherapy and access technologies.
